Program development

Early Childhood Education focuses on supporting children to develop their capabilities in their own time, fostering independence, social graces, and pre-numeracy and pre-literacy skills.

The first six years of life are vital for the long-term successes for each child. Cross-Country Kids Childcare Centre ensures that each child is provided with the optimum possible experiences and environment to support their developing potentials. We believe that all children have the right to the best early years environments.

Children need interaction with nature, large muscle challenges, concrete learning materials, intelligent language modelling, support for socialisation and an environment which promotes their independence.

Montessori-inspired programs include:

  • Grace & courtesy
  • Practical life
  • Sensorial
  • Language
  • Mathematics
  • Cultural
  • Philosophy.

Our programs are designed to:

  • encourage children to be actively involved in the learning process
  • foster independence, pre-numeracy and pre-literacy skills
  • allow children to experience a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials, and to pursue their own interests within a group setting.

Most importantly, the programs provide experiences that support and stimulate children's learning in a manner appropriate for each individual, as well as for the group as a whole.
